Dr. Olatoye is a film critic and the Founder of Nollywood and African
Film Critics’ Awards also known as The NAFCA. Dr Olatoye has written
over five hundreds reviews of African films, has several reports,
articles and published interviews under his belt. Victor is originally
from Nigeria but left Nigeria at the young age of 17 on a full
international scholarship to be educated at the famous Aristotle
University in Thessaloniki Greece. Fluent in Greek and have had to
opportunity to travel the world and visited over 25 countries and
counting, touring the world, has allowed him to experience and
appreciate different cultures and deep appreciation for filmmaking and
how different cultures influence the art of filmmaking. The NAFCA is
recognized as one of the most coveted and prestigious awards for African
films and The NAFCA Honors are awards organized to recognize
outstanding individuals whose lives have been marked by extraordinary
personal and professional accomplishments. The NAFCA Humanitarian award
recognizes individuals for their outstanding achievements and
contribution to humanity.
The NAFCA Special Honors were presented for the first time in 2011 to
President Nelson Mandela.
Dr. Olatoye is also a humanitarian
Tina Weisinger a native of Chicago, Illinois specializes in Executive
Business Development for Projects that appeal to specific capital
investors. She is the liaison between global, regional and local
projects on three continents, bringing marketing opportunities in
specific industries targeted to capital/investor interests. When Ms.
Weisinger founded her own company, Dream Entertainment Management, her

contacts gives Ms. Weisinger a knack for bringing the right project and

her clients in the just released movie, Get On Up, Tyler Perry’s, Love

has produced several shows such as A Raisin In the Sun (Chicago), For
Colored Girls Only (Chicago), The Annual Major Adams Awards Gala
(Chicago), NAACP ACT-SO Awards Ceremony (Los Angeles), NAACP Theatre
Awards (Beverly Hills) just to name a few. Ms. Weisinger has joined the
NAFCA / African Oscars team as a Co-Executive Producer.
Troy M. McNish is Co-founder, Vice-President and technical director at
Nollywood Critics. An independent filmmaker, Troy has been engaged in
the independent film for over 15 years. During the period, he has
devoted a large part of his time to studying the craft of directing and
producing independent films.
Many of his projects to date have been showcased via the
Internet, television and movie theaters. Born and raised in Neptune, New
Jersey, he studied film theory in Detroit before moving to Raleigh,
North Carolina, where he currently resides. While attending St.
Augustine College, Raleigh North Carolina, Troy worked as a production
assistant on many music videos and television commercials. He interned
at WQOK 97.5 radio station where he earned him the nick-name “Malik
Freaks” for his hard work and diverse roles.
These roles included working with various filmmakers, radio
personalities, Street Promoters, and Photographers. For two years, he
served as a photojournalist for Arista and Columbia records where he
worked with Bad Boy Entertainment, Maxwell, Goodie Mobb, Next, Cam’ron,
and many others. Eager to learn the business side of the entertainment
industry, he stepped away from corporate America to work independently.
As an independent agent, he worked for Fortune 500 companies in the
production of audio, video and visual products. He worked with various
local artists from North Carolina to produce and direct music videos and
in his creative work he adopts an urban point of view in productions.
In 2009, Troy released Jooka a film about three football college players
who’s craving for fast money that leads them into a world in which
there are no winners.
Rick Stephenson, a music industry veteran began his career in 1986. His
accomplishments include owner of BMS Case Company, which built and
provided cases for musical instruments for stores across the nation.
Former CEO of Polaris Records, Polaris Computer’s and Polaris
Studio. Former President of "ISA BOMB Entertainment" and Vice President
of “Underwood Records”. Currently, CEO of Xtra Point Industries.
AMBERR WASHINGTON Is the Vice President of AmVic
Entertainment and the President AWE Enterprises. A native of Chicago,
Illinois and an alumna of Columbia College Chicago, who received a
Bachelor's degree in Motion Picture Producing and Cinematography Amberr
has produced a number of films to her credits. Soul Ties, C’mon, Into
the Woods, The Hustle, Redrum, Blast On, Sunset and Faithless, In
addition, Amberr acted as director of Photography for FAITHLESS which
was acquired by Bruder Releasing and was available on ifilms.com for one
year. Other films in which Amberr served as a cinematographer,
director and or producer includes Method (director/producer), J-POW
(director of photography), Create and Destroy (director of
photography/producer) Gone for Good (producer/cinematographer),
Unyielding Ties (director of photography), Tina
(cinematographer/producer), Bedtime (cinematographer), Stardom
(cinematographer), American Like (cinematographer), Why Me
(cinematographer), A Surfer's Life (Documentary) Stepping from Chicago
to Miami (Documentary). As of 2014- Amberr has embarked on working on
the 4th African Oscars Award show. Amber is in pre- production as well
with Jake Steven’s the Last protector, the Jersey 4 and her first stage
play as a Producer titled the little black dress. Amberr is excited
about her skills in producing thought provoking products and new genre
inspired stories and products that continue to allow the independent
voice to be heard. The best is yet to come.
